LIVE from Gorilla Pavilion

Since 2005 we have monitored a group of western lowland gorillas in Prague Zoo. Richard, Shinda, Kijivu, Moja and later on Kamba and a baby Tatu were observed by several cameras non-stop.
The main aim was to confront the behaviour of gorillas with the behaviour of human beings. Another goal was to bring relevant information about apes and to contribute to the conservation. And unexpectedly we managed to successfully also acquire very valuable material for scientific research.
The gorillas from Prague Zoo have become celebrities, which crowds flock to see. We were witnesses od unexpected situations - arrival of a new female gorilla and establishment of pecking order (hierarchy in the group), luckless and successful birth of a gorilla baby, unbelievable hearty care gorilla mother Kijivu of her baby Tatu and so on…
